Gossip releases tomorrow then this news page goes dark for 2 weeks

First thing’s first, this is the last post here for nearly two weeks. If you need to stay up to date follow our Instagram page (@zegema_beach) for the updates as I won’t have access to my computer here in Canada. Therefore all of the drops on bandcamp and this store will be set on a timer (except Gossip, I’m here for that) so I apologize in advance if it gets screwy but I’ll do my best to have them all release at the proper times. As always 9am PST / 11am CST / 12pm EST for all ZBR and Tomb Tree releases unless otherwise stated.

Gossip’s long awaited debut EP ‘Coals of Juniper’ releases tomorrow both digitally and on 10” /250. The 1st run had a defect and was remade so these land in time for ZBR Fest but not in time for tomorrow’s drop so we have no promo pics to show. I can, however, tell you that 125 are on black/white 3-color stripe with purple splatter and the other 125 are on a color-in-color bone/purple. Should look really sick, but I expect the splatter version to be the one to gun for first if you want’em lookin’ extra slick. They’re playing this year’s fest and fuckin’ ruled the pre-show last year. For fans of Mahria, Old Soul, Nuvolascura, Blind Girls, Crowning, etc.

Usurp Synapse is here and ready to fuck you up. Here are some promo pics for the regular versions of the ‘AssIIAss’ edition tape, as there will be an early-bird version available May 2nd via the Brooklyn Vegan premiere of the full EP. You can also jam a brand new song below in the Operation X-Ray show! Full release May 3rd.

Okay, last post, last time travel for a bit, this one just a year back to 2023 when we saw the fest go from “woah” to “holy shit” in terms of both bands and attendance. The comeback of Sawtooth Grin was something truly extra special. Documentary below. See you this upcoming weekend!!! STOOOOOOOOKED!!!!!!!!

CanaDave “learned” how to play guitar and started Mourn Recif on Vancouver Island with some friends. They played their first show last night. Here’s the longer, slower jam. More shows coming in late May.

2023 - 07 - 14 /// Orchid is on its way

Yep, Orchid’s ‘Gatefold’ has already been shipped to us so we’ll get them online next week for sale. Ebullition coming in huge. We got just over 20 copies.

Also coming up is an old ZBR release that’s so incredible that we had to put it to 12” mage alongside our family at No Funeral Records. July 26th. It’ll be nuts.

In Loving Memory released their final single off of ‘A Gentler Sun’ before the EP’s full release on July 21st. Here’s the single, and I just finished the tapes today! Promo pics coming Monday!!!

The new Seasons Worn EP ‘A Flower In Faith’ is out and kicking ass. Tomb Tree released this cassette on 53 copies and the band’s got 20 so we’ve only got about 30 for sale between the two stores, with the Canada store selling more than half of it’s stock in the first few hours.

This Noise Is Ours plugged another ZBR release with their Roster Review series, this time focusing on the arguably perfect ‘moments’ by Japan’s Sans Visage. I’m pretty sure we’re sold out, save maybe one copy in this store, although it might be a Utarid version. Click on the pic above or this text to go to the review.

Repeating their “what the FUCK was that?” response from last year’s fest, Meth. knows how to wow a crowd, plain and simple. It didn’t hurt that they played their entire new LP in full that doesn’t come out until 2024. We were a buncha lucky ducks, I tell ya. We will continue posting the single videos for each band that played ZBR Fest 2023 in the order that they played, so there’s more coming!

Johnny’s Reco-mmendations: THE LOVE AND TERROR CULT = CanaDave was inquiring with the band about releasing their discography, and now he knows why they didn’t do it, cuz this was already well under way. So good!!!

2022 - 01 - 25 /// Karloff tapes all doneski doodle

Karloff arrived on Wednesday and were completed and shipped to the U.S. store and Canada/International customers on Friday. We still have a just a few of our /25 left and good lord they look good. But they sound EVEN BETTER. Karloff for Prime Minister.

Another day, another Motel Bible variant picture reveal. Here’s #3/4 “A Mathematical Theory of Metallic Records“ /100!!! These go on sale February 1st at 9am PST but you can jam it now on our bandcamp, linked here!

In line with the Motel Bible release, CanaDave did a podcast featuring our partners in crime Steve and Kyle from Heathen Hand Records. The history and variants of the ‘Regression’ release are discussed along with lots of laughter and some sick tunes. Check all that shit out here.

Johnny’s Reco-mmendations: LONG.WAY.DOWN. = Very, very sick, lo-fi, dark, pummeling screamo/emo-violence from Georgia. They released an awesome split with ? last year, too.
