Widowdusk 12"LP, Orchid this week

Widowdusk releases digitally March 18th, tapes will follow (definitely before ZBR Fest) and then 12”s (probably soon after ZBR Fest). This thing is by far the best thing they’ve done. Much heavier. Much techier. Much awesomer. English is my powerful tux, what can I say.

Oh yeah, absolutely fucking massive distro update on Thursday. Orchid, Moment Of Collapse, Shove Records and even a couple Blind Girls 3rd presses from No Funeral.

Horseboy is out. It runs wild. There is no taming instinctual amazingness. Try to lasso yourself a copy before they’re gone and runnin’ free.

Our Future Is An Absolute Shadow got a hefty/sick write-up from Everything Is Noise. We are very low on these and will undoubtedly sell out this year, most likely before ZBR Fest and possibly even next month. A birdie perched behind a kit in Michigan told me more stuff is coming. First and foremost, please have patience with the US store as there will be no shipping until December while Dave from Crowning/ZBR USA is on tour in Mexico. When he gets back it’s time for the Othiel drop and by god it’s a fucking killer debut 12”LP that fans of Crowning will fall head over heels for.

Obroa-skai has been getting mad love and it’s pretty obvious why. Genre-bending hardcore from Edmonton featuring ex-members of Mahria and Rayleigh! Obroa-skai 12”s are in hand and release/ship this Friday at 9am PST / 11am CST / 12pm EST! We did 100 on eco-mix (in this case it turned out blue-ish green) including a two-sided lyrical insert. There’s not much other news that is publicly available, so thanks for reading and here’s some info! Firstly, I just ordered the Our Future Is An Absolute Shadow 12”LP so that’ll 100% come out in January, probably in the middle of it. Secondly, the plant is showing that Onewaymirror should be completed late December so I’d expect them to go up for sale super early in January. Thirdly, I have no clue when the 300th ZBR release will finish up, but I can say it’s a European emo-violence from years past and it’s co-released with Dog Knights. Mages? Yup.

Closet Witch’s guitarist Alex Crist was on CanaDave’s podcast the other day so definitely check that out as we all wait in anticipation for the release of ‘Chiaroscuro’ on November 3rd, 2023. Oooo baby after a few days of silence all three of our labels had a premiere go down! First is Euclid C Finder via No Clean Singing for Zegema Beach (releases October 27th), then there was Tomb Tree’s My Hair Is A Rat’s Nest which got picked up by Stereogum (releases September 21st), and finally CanaDave’s newest label Softseed Music saw a song/music video release from Social Caterpillar via Idioteq.com (releases October 7th). Hey! If you have ever wanted to be a part of one of the grave, neighbors Halloween cover compilations that I do, this may be your last chance. To be honest each year it’s getting more and more difficult to get people to submit. Last year, some friends came through at the last minute and help me wrangle up some more songs, but this year it’s starting to look like i’ll have to do a bunch myself if I want to make a decent size compilation out of it. Anyway, if you have an unreleased recording of a cover song or would like to do one and can submit it by October 1, Let me know. I would love to continue doing this but if there’s no interest maybe I should just let it go.
