Martin Randal Travel just got the premiere treatment from none other than Not Just A Phase. Their split with Sulfur (their premiere was last week via This Noise Is Ours, linked here and embedded below) releases on Tomb Tree this Monday February 24th on 52 tapes. Vancouver’s Smush just released their 3rd music video from ‘if you were here i’d be home now’ and we’re down to the absolute last copies of the first pressing. This was CanaDave’s album of the year in 2024! 2 left on the Softseed bandcamp, 2 in the Canada store, and 22 in the U.S. store. Zero chance these are still around by summer so snag now or forever hold your peace.

Belted Sweater got the good’ole OMSB premiere treatment with the final single “More Rack Toms (than people in the audience)” and it’s amazing. It’s different. By golly it’s a bit strange at first, but like CanaDave you will likely become enamored with this incredible glam skramz solo project from LA. Full tape release is this Friday the 21st of February on Softseed Music (but we’ll have a few copies too) and Self Versed Records. The Coma Of Eris debut album immediately caught the eye of the almighty Stereogum who were kind enough to do a little write-up of it. Tapes have been ordered and will arrive in mid-March, after which CanaDave will decorate and they should be released late March/early April. You know you’ve made it if Sophie’s Floorboard covers you, so hella congrats to Onewaymirror for breaking that floorboard right off and inserting themselves as one of the most prolific and popular screamo bands around. Athousandangelsandseven were featured on the HMHD video podcast (along with a buncha posters that these dudes bought from the Canada store) and it’s both amazing and hilarious. Johnny’s Reco-mmendations: YELLFIRE = I knew nothing about this band when I played with them, but they played as a three-piece and blew us all away. After the set we were informed that they were missing a guitar player at that show and everyone’s jaws broke the fuck off. They’re like Botch x Kollapse. Amazing.

2024 - 09 - 13 /// Hallam Foe & Othiel + Palefade are next

With Split Silk out in full (embeded above) next on deck for Tomb Tree is the Othiel / Palefade. split that we churned out 40 copies of in two days. 3 variants, diy as all hell. Here they are! Releases September 20th at 9am PST / 11am CST / 12pm EST. CDs will follow, likely in November.

As for ZBR, another friendly reminder that we’ll have the Hallam Foe one-sided 12” lathe EP for ‘Funkapokalips’ on September 17th. 25 black / 25 clear. All ass-kicking.

Right in time for CanaDave to lose his shit (he just got the Emma Goldman LP masters and is trying to cope with it’s amazingness), Edie from Everything Remade interviewed Felix (guitar/vox) from the band. You are not ready. Minds blown early 2025.

2024 - 07 - 23 /// ZBR fest VHS tomorrow!

Big news! VHS tapes will release tomorrow featuring 2022, 2023, and 2024 full line-ups!!! Holy fuck. You can snag one or even the full set. Is this the future? It will be at 9am PST / 11am CST /12pm EST on Wednesday July 24th!!!

Excrucis’ new and final release ‘There are Collectivities that Devour Souls’ is out and it’s fucking unbelievably good. We’ve got the tapes ready to ship as well as bundle sets available that includes their entire discography!!!

Tenue’s new 5-song album ‘Arcos, bóvedas, pórticos’ releases in full August 1st, 2024…then we’re taking a much deserved break, with only one more release coming out in August. Even Tomb Tree only has one release this month. Enjoy the rest of your summer!!! CanaDave is currently dubbing these tapes, only 50 will be made.

ZBR Fest 2024’s video is out and it’s fucking awesome. I heard VHS copies are going on sale soon…like 10 or something silly. Keep an eye out on our Instagram for more info on that.

Detach The Islands have finally released their new album ‘A Highly Magnified History’ on 105 tapes via Tomb Tree. This thing is fucking unhinged to the max, bizarre, and fucking genius. Pics of the tapes above, jam below. Remember that Bandcamp upped their cut so our copies there are 20% more expensive than our stores aka GO BUY THEM FROM OUR STORES AND NOT BANDCAMP!!! Mourn Recif has an upcoming Victoria show on August 24th. The lineup hasn’t been released yet but I can say it’ll be the best screamo show on Vancouver Island in the past while. In the meantime you can check out the show’s predecessor where Mourn Recif got to meet and play with a buncha sick bands including Coup D’Etat, All That Decays, Bathtub Autopsy, and Chopping Block. Onewaymirror is out and doing well. The merges are running low, black is down to four copies left, and there is a test press on Bandcamp and in the U.S. store.
