2x12" gatefold 8-band/4-country split / WORST GIFT in stock / WE ARE EMPIRE digital release / THE WORLD THAT SUMMER stuff / RESPIRE full length / FOXMOULDER release show / Distro updates
It is officially time to announce the 8-way split 2x12" gatefold featuring four countries! In the next few months we will be revealing which countries and bands will be participating on the 8-way split. I am so proud of this split and how it's shaping up that I can hardly contain myself. This has been a dream of mine and officially in the works now for almost 2 years and the release date is tentatively set for winter 2016. There will be four labels participating:
Zegema Beach Records (canada)
Blood Of The Young (usa)
Through Love Records (germany)
Shove Records (italy)
Check back next week for new updates!
WORST GIFT 12"s are in! Get 'Shitty Loser Riffs' and the amazing post-hardcore/stoner/grunge/garage rock music contained on the black vinyl limited to 500 copies and numbered. The band will be hosting numerous release shows with bands they've met and got along well with in the last few months, one of which the ZBR distro will be there for, which is the February 6th show as the band I'm in called The World That Summer will also be playing along with Black Love and Terry Green. What a show. Stream the record in full here.

For fans of: Greyscale, Animal Faces and Slint
Featuring members of Tonnn, Bandera and Ispoke, this ginger Toronto trio play sludgy, grooving and epic weed influenced post-hardcore/garage/stoner rock. These four songs cover almost 25 minutes of wax and will have you bobbing your head along slowly in no time. All three members share vocal duties and it's not uncommon for multiple vocalists to be crooning along together, going solo or spinning the mic around. Imagine if Slint kidnapped Cursive and held them hostage inside of a giant bong – it sounds something like that. All art and packaging done by the band.
Black vinyl. 4 songs. Download card included.

WE ARE EMPIRE digital EP will be released shortly (like in a few days to upwards of 2 months, due to artwork). In case you were unaware, WE ARE EMPIRE was Casey Boland (You & I, Hot Cross) and his brother creating mathy emo jams not unlike Hot Cross, just a tad lighter. The EP will be up for free download for everyone to enjoy. Until then, here's a song from it.
A reminder that the Zegema Beach Records cd Zampler #6 was released on January 1st, 2016 and features 25 bands from all over the world. The free downloads on bandcamp were exhausted in a matter of hours but I've included a free download link right from the bandcamp page. Check it all out here.
THE WORLD THAT SUMMER has a bunch of stuff coming up. First there's the show with Worst Gift on February 6th in Toronto where we will be selling some shirts along with our new demo cd which is essentially the upcoming split tape with Apostles Of Eris save the AOE songs and we've also included an unreleased live track on there for ya. Next up is the actual split tape with Apostles Of Eris (should be out in March), a show on May 10th with Lentic Waters, Locktender and Foxmoulder followed by the split 7" record with Sweden's Nionde Plagan. Here's one of our lighter songs from our first concert with Ken Mode, Life In Vacuum and Worst Gift.
I've received the nearly complete files for the RESPIRE 12"LP and I can honestly say it's fucking mindblowing. 3/4 of Foxmoulder +3 more members round out the massive, epic and sprawling post-hardcore/screamo/classical rock masterpiece. Honestly, this is fucking killer. Check out a live video of a song that was on their demo but has been rerecorded for the LP. It's like Vi Som Alskade Varandra Sa Mycket, Envy and Locktender all rolled into one, sexy, wet dream.
Speaking of FOXMOULDER, they just released a new 12"LP split with Eaglehaslanded and we were there to film the entire set! Check out the complete set of 8 videos and a review here or just watch the band kill it in the video embedded here...or both. Grab the 12" here in any of the 3 jacket colour variations. Jam it on bandcamp here.
There's a ton of new trades coming in to the distro. Next week Skeletal Lightning will be posted (Ostraca, Life In Vacuum, Letters To Catalonia, etc.) followed by more records from Adagio830, Vendetta Records, Shove Records and the band Thisismenotthinkingofyou as well as those darn Careless 12"s whenever they show up. There should also be some Raein/Ampere split 8"s in stock shortly from No Idea Records. So much stuff! For now there is a bunch of new records from Desordre Ordonne from Montreal, including that sick new Milanku 12"LP!!!
