The first press was released the final day of 2020, ass-out toward those who made year-end lists in haste, Baltimore’s EYELET have ventured into dark, heavy and atmospheric territory with ‘The Devil Shining Out Your Eyes’. This gargantuan 12”LP somehow meshes progressive, dual-vocal screamo with the sounds of late 90s/early 2000s Hydra Head, and it’s even better than you’re imagining. Whether it’s the swaying, sludgy oppression of opener “Sap”, the eclectic “See How You Writhe”, instrumental “Succession of the Asphodels” or riff-monster “When I Am Turned to Stone”, this release has you covered. The 12” comes with beautiful artwork from guitarist/vocalist Craig Smith, was recorded by guitarist/vocalist Matt Redenbo, mastered by James Plotkin. The first press 12”s came on two variants: 200 on random color and 25 coveted wax mages, all with an insert and download code. The second press 12”s come on 150 black w/splattered innersleeves, 100 nebula, and 25 wax mage. Co-released with Icorrupt Records and The Ghost Is Clear Records.
