This debut full length by Vancouver, Canada’s SMUSH is beyond exceptional. Soul-touching heavy shoegaze that hits hard yet retaining swirly/dreamy dynamics all slathered in gorgeous vocals. 12 tracks that range from earthquakes to lullabies and atmospheric interludes to ridiculously mature songwriting, this is bound to have at least one thing (if not numerous) to love. Riding on the singles/music videos of “lizzy mcguire” and “if we didn’t cry”, don’t think those fantastic jams are anomalies as ‘if you were here i'd be home now’ is littered with them.
